Don't feel dumb! You recognized it was a scam before it was too late.

I feel like a normal person would be like "wow that is a SCAM" immediately and I was like "AAH! SCARY SITTUATION!" plus I was legit never scammed before in my entire life (in terms of online scams at least lol) so I didn't know what to do, but it's good I actually spotted that phew

@KontraVersus It's always easier saying "Yeah, that was obvious..." when you weren't the one who had been approached. Those scams are aimed to destabilize the target - which is sometimes hard to see for others.

If you are scared of getting scammed again, buy and read 'The Art of Deception' by Kevin Mitnick. It's essentially a book on self-defense against social engineering:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Art_of_Deception
I read it 'once' over a decade ago and I still get "chances" to apply what I learned from that book several times a year (in 'actual' real life).

Yeah, I didn't mention this but there were actually two scammers. I had someone in my friends list I didn't remove when we stopped talking, and this person was the one who approached me. And she claimed that if I don't "do anything the man says" she will lose her account with me and the "job" she had on there. The audacity to say something like this to someone. But this kinda behaviour really helped me see it was a scam, because these people were really pushy and weird.
